While a comprehensive hearing test forms the basis for recommending a hearing aid, the key to better hearing is through a proper fitting of that hearing aid. Real-Time Analyzer/Probe Microphone System

The real-time measurements that are displayed provide Ellen with an objective means of determining if your hearing aid's amplification is appropriate, allowing her to adjust the device as needed.

Getting your hearing aid fitted is not the final step. To make sure your hearing aid continues to function properly, you should return to see Ellen Mosher several times each year for follow-up care. When you receive your hearing aid, we make sure that you understand how to use and maintain it properly. We use your audiogram, your personal input, and a probe microphone real ear analyzer to make necessary adjustments to assist in accurately programming the hearing aid. The real ear analyzer provides a real-time display of the amplification that the hearing aid is producing in your ear canal. Since each person’s ear canal amplifies sound differently, the measurements taken by this system are the only objective means of determining if the amplification of the hearing aid is appropriate for you. This ensures that your fitting is scientifically correct, accurate, and appropriate.
